About Us
FurryCreek Farm is a small acreage is located on beautiful Vancouver Island just outside of Ladysmith, BC. It is the retirement dream of Don, after 36 years of Government service, and Marva who continues to work as a Letter Carrier for Canada Post. FurryCreek Farm provides a tranquil location to raise our "Babydoll" sheep and breed Aussies. Marva`s focus is primarily on her CKC Champion line of Pomeranian`s (FurryCreek Pomeranian) which she has shown and bred since 1998. In addition, we have and love a variety of goats, chickens, birds and of course the cat, "Merlin", who is lord and master of it all.

Who We Are |
We both love animals, and with no adult in the group to say "No!" you can only imagine how the number and types of animals seems to continually grow. Don`s plan was always to raise sheep. He heard somewhere, a long time ago, to be a gentleman farmer, one had to raise sheep. Hence there has been a problem in paradise, since Marva refuses to eat anything with a face that has been raised on our acreage. While neither of us are vegetarians, we both seem to have a soft spot for animals that we have cared for and interacted with. They all become pets. Finding the Babydoll miniature sheep solved the problem for us as these lovable creatures will be raised and sold as pets and companion animals to like minded people. |
Our History
.Don was born and raised as a big city boy in Vancouver, BC. Marva was born and raised in a small village in Newfoundland. Don finished high school and joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police where he served in BC and was eventually posted to the Marine Division where he obtained a M.O.T. Master's Certificate. Marva finished high school and waited for Don. She found him when he was transferred to the last wooden patrol vessel in Newfoundland the "P/V Centennial". They then moved together to the Northwest Territories living for 10 years above the arctic circle. Don policed Northern Settlements and Marva starting her career in Canada Post. They returned to the West Coast working on Vancouver Island and in the Lower Mainland. On Don`s retirement in 2010, they purchased 6 acres on Vancouver Island to raise their dogs and sheep.
