We have located the sheep to start our flock, made a deposit and our adventure begins. We planned a camping trip to see our Grandchildren in Edmonton, Alberta for the last two weeks of August. By adding a couple of extra days to drive to Lumsden, Saskatchewan to pick up two rams and two ewe lambs from Buster Hollow we can avoid the additional costs of shipping the lambs. The trip home should be interesting to say the least. Camping with four sheep and our Aussie, Tilly, should be an unique experience.
Our fifth ewe lamb, Pia, is being delivered from Terrace to Vancouver Island sometime this week and will be here before we leave on our road trip. We should have a week to get her settled in with the goats, prior to us leaving.
For the last week I have been busy preparing the farm for the arrival of the new stock. The open donkey barn has been fully renovated and closed in to house the sheep at night. Six windows, two dutch doors and one sliding barn door have all been installed for security, light and ventilation.

When complete, the barn will have three folding 5' X 5' lambing pens. Attached to one side of barn is a separate stall for the rams with direct access to a small pasture shaded by maple trees.
